		<title>MacBook Pro, iSight Malfunction</title>

<summary>My beloved MacBook Pro broke today. Its not that old, and is still my pride and joy. But all of a sudden the built in iSight suddenly stopped working, and I was left photo-less. But do not fear, if your own MacBook Pro decides to disable your iSight camera, there is a way to get it back to health and working again.
The solution is simple, turn your MacBook Pro off. Then press the Power button, immediately after you hear the chime press and hold the Shift key. This will put MacBook into safe mode. (Be sure to release the shift key when you see the apple logo). You will notice when in Safe Mode that the login screen is shown, even if you normally log in automatically.
Once booted, and you are logged in, turn your macbook off, press the power button again, and boot in as normal, (without pressing any keys). Your iSight should now be working again.
If this was helpful, please digg, or comment below.</summary>

<summary>In my opinion fantastic news from the BBC today, as they announce that Internet Explorer has a massive security flaw, which could allow hackers to control your machine and steal passwords.
Read the article from the BBC; Internet Explorer security alert
What does this all mean? Well, if a hacker can gain control of your PC, he can install any software he likes, you won&#8217;t necessarily see this happening. An example of the software they might install is a key press tracker, which will log any key strokes you make on the keyboard. Therefore the next time you log onto your internet banking, type in your username and password, the hacker would recieve these details, and therefore have access to your money.
It is reported that the major Anti Virus companies are also warning their customers about this lack of security that Internet Explorer provides, and the fact that they cannot protect you against such attacks, their suggestion is to use another browser.
I thought I would take this opportunity to provide my readers with a list of SAFE browsers, this list is of free web browsers, they all behave the same, they all show you the internet. They are just all safe.

    Mozilla Firefox
    Apple Safari
    Opera
    Google Chrome
    Flock (Mozilla Based)

If you are using Internet Explorer of any kind, you should think about upgrading to a safer browser, you will find your web experience much better too, there are many flaws with the way Microsoft display web sites, which whilst it may not make much sense of difference to the way you see the web, for designers and developers its a nightmare to bring you consistancy when delivering web sites to IE.
Microsoft say they are looking at releasing a patch for Internet Explorer 7, but have warned there will be no support for IE6 or below, so if you, or any one you know are still using this relic of a browser, its about time they upgraded to a safer better browser, if not at least upgrade to IE7 once Microsoft have fixed their security flaw.</summary>

<summary>For a long time now I have been using Inquisitor for Safari, a plugin for the Apple web browser which displays suggestions and provides autocompletion for your searches right in your browser.
Inquisitor speeds up your searches like no other. Start typing and websites appear instantly, along with suggestions to help refine your search.
Inquisitor understands you, learning and tailoring your results as you search. You can also add more search engines with customized keyboard shortcuts.
Inquisitor is fast, smart, flexible and free! (Extract from Inquisitor)
I thought when David Watanabe&#8217;s inquisitor was acquired by Yahoo!, we might all see the downslide of the clever plugin, but Yahoo! have pulled a great product out of the hat with compatibility for both Firefox and Internet Explorer, keeping the same look and feel originally designed by David Watanabe.
So what are you waiting for download Inquisitor now.</summary>

<summary>A while ago Twitter was reported to be the most down site on the internet, with more maintenance downtime you could shake a stick at.
Fortunately Twitter seem to have resolved this issue now, though it is not without its faults. But now it seems my new favourite social networking site seems to be headed in the same direction, of the feared downtime. Plurks consistant errors of 503 pages and &quot;something went wrong&quot; pages are beginning to bug me.
They have had the site working, what are they doing to cause these error messages, or who on earth are they using for their hosting? Obviously a company who cannot cope with the grand scale of things.
Lets hope the owners of Plurk can pick up the slack before people start to move on?</summary>

<summary>A good friend of mine made a discovery about where her hits for images were coming from, and I would like to share my utter disbelief and discust at the rudeness of some people.
The website tutorialdirectory.net (please pardon me for not linking) is copying interlectual property from Letters To You Tutorials, not only is the website in question copying content, but he has not even had the time to save his own images, or alter links, just simply copy and paste the source code by the looks of things.
This complete disregard for someones hard work and time is unpardonable. Tutorial Directory should be blacklisted. Or perhaps I shall share his Stumble Upon profile, as it seems to be the only way to send the perpetrator a message.
I can only assume that the theif is trying to earn some money from his Google adverts, so those with static IP&#8217;s should just click click click, this will cause Google to think that he is clicking his own adverts and blacklist him!!
I just think this stealing is rude and inappropriate on the web today.</summary>

<summary>Upon updating my iTunes to the latest version 8 with the new Genius sidebar I was extremely disappointed to find that my Airtunes did not work through my remote speakers on my Airport Express.
After some digging around the Apple support forums I found I was not the only one with the new found problem!
I looked at all the information and did some searches for the latest updates to Apples software and hardware, I found that Airport Express has a Firmware upgrade available for 6.2 to 6.3.
You can download the latest Airport Express Firmware from Apples web site. (For Windows users of iTunes 8.0).
You may still need to check your firewall settings and make sure that UDP traffic is unblocked.
Once thats done you will be able to enjoy listening to your iTunes 8 music through your remote speakers on Airport Express.
Thanks would be nice, simply fill the form below! </summary>

		<title>Free MobileMe Account</title>
		<link href="http://iantearle.com/blog/free-mobileme-account" />
		<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://iantearle.com/blog/free-mobileme-account"/>
		<id>urn:uuid:1225c695-cfb8-4ebb-aaaa-80da344efa6a</id>
		<updated></updated>
<summary>As soon as Apple announced the launch of the new iPhone 3G and along with it MobileMe their own online version of Microsoft Exchange, I was adimant that I was going to sign up and be organised once and for all.
So yesterday, when I found that I had a spare five minutes in my schedule, I signed up to MobileMe. The free trial of 60 days is fantastic, its like having 60 days free from a years subscription, as at sign up you are prompted to enter your payment details and at the end of 60 days you are automatically billed. Dont worry though if you find that you do not like it, there is a cancel button in the account options, although Mobile Me is well worth the &pound;59.
Registration is easy, and I was logging in within minutes, the first thing I noticed was the clean interface, with good use of some relatively unpopular Javascript libraries, Prototype and the add on Scriptaculous, often pushed aside by jQuery. Nevertheless the technology is fast and impressively accurate to Apple&#8217;s desktop software iLife.
One of the major gripes to come from MobileMe is the fact that Apple would really rather you use their own email @me.com which is rather frustrating, while you can import your external POP account, I have found an error which got me very frustrated, I keep my mail on my server for a week or so before deleting it, that way if I delete something I have a backup. Unfortunately every time I check for new mail on my external account Mobile Me imports everything again, so I end up having duplicate emails in my mail box.
So for a work around I have forwarded my email to another mail addess me@iantearle.com and asked MobileMe to remove the messages from my servers. granted I may look at the same email in two places, but until I get used to how Apple has set up its online applications, this is going to work for me.
Syncing was easy, Preferences on my iBook G4, .mac enter my username and password, and there you go, contacts, calendar and some mail preferences on its way. One nice touch I noticed, I can even sync my Panic Software, Transmit favourites with Mobile Me.
Onto iPhoto. What a great partner to have, I do not think there is anything better to share your iPhoto images with others. As soon as you open iPhoto after signing into MobileME you will see the icon in the bottom toolbar. Simply select your album, click the icon, and woosh, off your images go, 84 images took just under 5 minutes to upload, in full quality, full size, to be stored, and backed up on Apples servers. The best thing is though, that I can share the albums I send to Mobile Me. After getting married to Rachael in March, we decided to host all out images, (all 5685 images) in one place, available from my mac. This is fine until my wife wants to view past memories, and just cannot work her way around my mac. But Mobile Me ends this dilema, I simply share the album with her, allow her to download photos so that she can get her favourites printed, and what is even better, she can even add to the album via online upload, or a special email link, and any new photos are synced down to my iPhoto library! Marvelous.
So go ahead, what are you waiting for, sign up today.</summary>
