Square Changes Everything
A brand new app and a brand new service hit both the Apple App Store and the consumer market today. Square will change the way individuals and businesses accept payment for goods and services forever.
Imagine taking credit/debit card payments anywhere. On the streets, at events, in shops, at the burger bar (The square advert on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBieYjxUj5Q portrays this perfectly).
This is not just an Apple gizmo. Square works with anything any device with an audio input jack, including your mobile phone. Obviously Square have added some great iPhone and iPad apps to the App Store, but they even made one for Android too, so which ever device you prefer, they have you sorted. I am sure they will be developing even more applications to run this on, I personally would like to see a desktop/laptop application.
Square is affordable too. With payment process charges similar to that of PayPal at 2.75% + 15¢ and no contract, setup fees, monthly minimums, just pay per transaction, bargain. This gadget and service will change the way small business owners run their shops and restaurants. Check out Square’s website for more details.
The only downside to Square at the moment. It is not available in the UK currently. But if you are in the US and you have used this product, I want to hear from you.
